overview
MJ Finnigan Demolition is an exciting new business built on over 60 years of experience in the demolition Industry.
The Brief
The client requested a professional, corporate looking web design with the ability to easily maintain the sites news and case study sections. As it was a new business the client felt that it was important to not only explain the business capabilities, but to put across the experience and accreditation’s he had gained over his 60 years in the business. The main aim of the site was to encourage potential clients to view previous work and ultimately make further contact via either telephone or email.
Delivery
As the client had requested a CMS system enabling them to update the site themselves, I decided to use wordpress as the base system. I designed and created a custom wordpress theme based around a 2 page web design, the front page was designed to give an immediate overview of who the company was and what they did, whilst encouraging users to delve further via the latest news quick link section. The content pages were designed to display content within the main section and encourage further interaction via the sidebar quicklinks. A gallery was also set-up after being provided with some interesting historical images.
All web site pages feature the static branding and main menu and also include the contact details and some accreditions within the static footer.
The web site was designed and cut in photoshop, integrated into wordpress using PHP, XHTML & CSS, a Sifr integration converts the site headings to the rockwell font which is also used in the company logo.
UPDATE : After using the web site for a few months the client requested a graphical way of displaying previous/current customers. I advised and implemented a ‘previous clients’ jQuery based scroller on the homepage. The scroller not only shows the clients logo, but links directly to the specific case studies and is easily updated via the content management system.
