It’s alive……..

It’s alive……..

Yep, that’s right I have finally got round to sorting out my personal web site, ‘about time’ I hear you say, come on, its only taken nearly 10yrs.

I am amazed that I have managed to survive this long without one, I guess being constantly busy or the “why spend time working on my own stuff when I can be making money doing somebody else’s” mentality isn’t quite a good enough excuse. I mean how many web designers do you know that don’t have a web site to showcase their previous work, display contact details etc…

Not since 2003 have I had my very own little place on the world wide web, back in the days when I went by the name of dzignaweb and tables were the only way to design. Thankfully that is history, we now have CSS, jQuery and brilliant open source software like Wordpress and Magento to design & build upon.

I would like to thank the guys over at woothemes who over christmas ran a buy one theme get 4 free offer, seemed too good to be true so I quickly purchased myself an early christmas present.
After deciding to buck the trend of displaying a small horizontal menu navigation across the top of the page I went with the ‘Big Easy’ theme to use as a base for my new home. Years of concept drawings quickly went out of the window and I started afresh with a new web design, a few days (make that weeks) later I had created what you have on your screen right now, my brand new shiny little ‘blogfolio’ web site.

Long gone are the days of trying to remember Url’s of previous clients when sending out quotes, no more ’sorry I don’t have my own site’ and best of all no ‘yes my email address is la di da 766676 @gmail.com’. I am back, more professional than ever and looking forward to an exciting 2010.

I hope you all like the new web site design, it is still ‘in work’ and probably will be for the coming months as I update the portfolio and hopefully get round to adding some blog items. Don’t be surprised if the web design completely changes as I have a habit of changing my mind and tweaking. Please feel free to comment and please let me know of any glitches you may encounter.

Note to IE6 users – you are probably viewing a very ugly version of the site. Do yourself a huge favor and update your software, browsers are one place where ‘Retro’ definitely isn’t cool. Please see Mozilla or Google for further details!
