A little bit of background info
My name is Adam and I am a Perth based Web Designer & Developer.
The journey to this awesome career started way back in 1974 when I was dragged into the world kicking and screaming on what was probably a cold and wet December day in Manchester.
Since that fateful day I have been busy spending my time tinkering with various computers and operating systems, listening to music, playing football, abusing myself in the gym, more recently migrating to Perth Australia, keeping up to date with web design trends and technologies and most importantly doing my best to be a great husband and father to my wonderful wife and 3 children.
Job History
1992 – 2002 : I started my working career with BAESYSTEMS (formerly British Aerospace) as a commercial apprentice. Fast forward 2 years and I had been named best overall commercial apprentice, earned a Business Studies qualification and been given a position within the Spares Support department where I was to spend a further 8yrs. It was within this period I was given my first taste of the internet, my role within the department had progressed to Systems Analyst within the business development team, where I was responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the Spares Support - Internet & Intranet web sites.
2002 – 2010 : Business relocation gave me the opportunity to go solo as a freelance web designer, taking great pride in producing a wide variety of web and the occasional print based design for various business’s, ranging from simple banner ads to full blown ecommerce web sites. I managed to forge some good long-term business relationships and collaborated with some awesome graphic designers and other web developers along the way.
Currently
This year is going to be an interesting and exciting one. Having lost one of my biggest contracts to the credit crunch, I no longer have the comfort blanket of a long term web design contract, so I am keen to take on more freelance projects whilst always being open to long-term based opportunities.
On a personal level I want to explore more of this beautiful country and hopefully learn how to use my new camera whilst doing so.
